Maryam's Story

Born in Tehran, Iran, Maryam grew up inside her mother's beauty school — surrounded by the craft long before she chose it as her own. She first studied architecture, but her true passion revealed itself in hair and make-up.

In 1982, she began her career in Greenwich, Connecticut, working at Shear Artistry, where she served as hair stylist to the exiled Royal Family of Iran. She later relocated to Beverly Hills, spending a decade at the Beverly Hilton Hotel before continuing her work across some of the world's most storied five-star properties — including the Bel Air and Beverly Hills hotels — all while running her own neighborhood salon for seventeen years.

In March 2021, Maryam began a new chapter at the sophisticated Peninsula Beverly Hills, before continuing her legacy of five-star hospitality with her current home at the iconic Hotel Bel-Air in The Salon by Joseph — where luxury meets ease, in a space to unwind, be cared for, and be transformed.

Maryam also offers her own branded make-up line, formulated to complement the individual beauty and style of each client, using only the finest products in the industry.
