When Should You Schedule Your Bridal Hair Trial?
Short answer: there isn't one perfect timeline. It depends on you.
The usual advice says "1 to 3 months before your wedding" and that's a reasonable starting point. But in my experience, the right timing really comes down to a few honest questions:
Do you already know your dress? If your dress is chosen, we can build your hair around its neckline, silhouette, and level of formality, which makes the trial far more productive. If you're still deciding, that's completely fine too; we can still explore direction and refine once your dress is set.
Do you have a clear vision, or are you still exploring? Some brides arrive with exact inspiration — a photo, a feeling, a specific era. Others genuinely don't know yet, and that's just as valid. If you're still exploring, it's worth scheduling your trial a little earlier, simply to give us room to try a few directions without pressure.
How does your calendar actually look? For high-profile clients balancing press appearances, travel, or other commitments alongside wedding planning, the trial doesn't need to fit a generic timeline, it needs to fit your schedule, at a moment when you can actually be present and unhurried.
My honest recommendation
If you already know your dress and have a clear sense of direction: 6-8 weeks out is plenty of time.
If you're still deciding on either: 2-3 months out gives you room to explore without rushing a decision that deserves thought.
There's no wrong answer here, and no need to stress over getting the timing "perfect." What matters far more than the calendar date is walking into that appointment feeling calm, unhurried, and confident that whatever direction we land on — you'll look, and feel, entirely like yourself.
